Now you know the meaning of “twice the sweat in half the time”. The more minutes you make it through, the more you sweat and the more calories you burn. The intervals are longer in this “45 seconds on, 15 seconds off” Tabata-style plyometric power madness. Just wait till you get to the first Power Move. This may be the craziest cardio workout you ever tried. Month 2: You’ll feel like you’re back at Day One as the intervals get longer, but the rest stays the same. It’s a battle between your mind telling you to push to a new Max and your body saying “OMG, are you serious?” And this is just Round 1. Shaun T takes it up a notch in this NO REST, Tabata-style strength workout. Just in case you didn’t think Cardio Challenge was hard enough, you’ll have 30 minutes of screaming, sweating, calorie-scorching madness. Your strength training starts here with traditional Tabata-style “20 seconds on, 10 seconds off” workout structure. Month 1: Shaun alternates killer cardio and Tabata-style strength workouts in preparation for your end-of-week challenge, Friday Fight.ģ0 minutes of the hardest cardio sequences you’ve ever tried. Yes it’s crazy hard, but it’s only 30 minutes! It’s a battle between your body and your mind to see how far you’re willing to go for insane results. The goal in INSANITY MAX:30 is to work to your max in every move and every minute, so you can torch MAX calories, burn MAX fat, and achieve MAX muscle definition. Take Shaun T’s 60-Day MAX OUT CHALLENGE and get ready for new moves and new sequences designed to shatter your limits. Because it’s not about finishing the workout-it’s about seeing how far you’ll go before you MAX OUT. If you’re ready to push harder than ever before…and dig deeper than you ever thought you could…then you can see results you never thought possible. The craziest 30 minutes of your day-for the best results of your life!

I can't say I'm not curious about it and I might pick it up come summer time. You get everything in the INSANITY MAX:30 Base kit, plus three additional workouts for insanely shredded abs. This method seems to wipe you as fast as it can by forcing an all-out right off the bat.

I get the all-out thing, which is a very new concept to me since I'm used to pacing myself for a longer workout and "emptying the tank" at the end. It's worth noting that I've conditioned myself pretty well I think and can do Month 1 without any additional pauses, so I'm probably in a minority. Granted, IM30 is much more cardio based (and I haven't done any of the P90X3 cardio workouts), but I have a hard time imagining being wiped after a 30 minute workout. I've done some P90X3, and while you can definitely get a great workout in 30 minutes, like The Challenge, I feel that the endurance aspect is lost and I have so much energy after finishing a P90X3 workout. This is something that concerns me with the new 30 minute style BB is going towards with their workouts (I really hope next year brings an Asylum 3 or P90X4 with LONGER workouts). How does month two compare to month one? Is it the drastic leap up in intensity that Month 2 of Insanity was?

I got well and truly mullered and loved every second of it. Having just done the Friday Night Fight Round 1 and Pulse however. Sweat Intervals was definitely a lot tougher and I enjoyed the challenge but, though difficult, I was a bit worried that I completed Tabata Power completely on my second go in the first week. I maxed out about the midway point through my first Cardio Challenge and Tabata Power. I found the first couple of days to be difficult, for sure, but nowhere near as difficult as I had expected. I'd previously completed Insanity twice through and thoroughly enjoyed the arse-kicking it handed me (I lost 10Kg/20(ish)lbs through the program) and thought Max:30 would be an excellent next step.
